Privacy Policy — TasteSync

TasteSync is built on a simple rule: what is never collected cannot leak. This policy describes exactly what we hold, why, and what we deliberately refuse to ask for.

02What we never collect

We do not ask for, store, or infer your gender, sexuality, precise location, job, education, height, or relationship intent. Not "not yet" — these are not fields in our database. This keeps us clear of sensitive-data regimes and keeps TasteSync from quietly becoming a dating app with extra steps.

We do not track your location, read your contacts, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

03Taste data and connected services

TasteSync only knows your taste because you connect a service and tell it to. You choose which to connect, and you can connect none of them and still hold an account.

Music — Spotify
Books — Goodreads
Anime and manga — AniList, MyAnimeList
Games — Steam, GG
Film and TV — Trakt, Letterboxd, Serializd

When you connect one, we read the titles, artists, and genres it returns and store them against your account. We do not post anything to these services, and we do not read your messages, friends, or payment details from them. Disconnecting a service removes the data it filled.

04Who else can see it

Your Room — the taste data drawn as a space — is visible to other TasteSync users. Your email address and date of birth are not, to anyone, ever.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Our database and authentication run on Supabase, which stores this data on our behalf. Access is restricted by row-level security, so one account cannot read another's private fields.

05Deleting your account

Email us and we will delete your account. Deletion removes your profile, your taste data, your Room, and your messages. It is permanent, and it is not a deactivation.

You may also ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, and we will send it.

06Children

TasteSync is not for people under 13, and where local law sets a higher age for consent to data processing, that age applies. We use date of birth solely to enforce this.

07Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
